Double Tap to Zoom

Good things happen in a collaboration between two players that refuse to compromise authenticity – and even better things happen when those two players are Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster.

Balancing signature motifs with unexplored design, the duo’s first-ever partnership serves as a perfect nod to all of the otherwordly energy that proves to be the driving force behind each brand.

To celebrate this iconic collab, Gentle Monster opened the doors of its NYC flagship for guests to get up close and personal with the new line.

Maison Margiela x Gentle Monster’s genderless collaboration observes the idea of appropriating the inappropriate. Knowing good and well that sunglasses have evolved beyond its intended use to shield the eyes on sunny days, these styles flex expanded frames that curve around the face for equal over-the-eye wear and headband-style use. Whether it’s day or night or your slipping on your shades for utility wear or fashion, this collab has you covered.

While DJ/NYC royalty Memphy and Mazurbate hit the decks and leveled up the atmosphere, attendees tried on the collab’s various styles. Including 11 different designs displayed across countless colorways in oversized, oval, cat-eye, wayfarer, and clubmaster silhouettes, Maison Margiela x Gentle Monster created a line fit for everyone to join their world.

From Margiela's emblematic four white stitches adorning specific shades to the fantastical flair in construction that Gentle Monster has become synonymous with, this drop is a testament to a true collab. It even includes 8 Maison Margiela numeral logos.
