New Balance’s Young Dad Shoe Wears a Secretly Nice GORE-TEX Rain Coat
To make a good sneaker like the New Balance 2010 even better, turn it into a waterproof dad shoe.
New Balance's next batch of 2010s lands with GORE-TEX uppers, making the dad shoes now weatherproof and extra breathable. It's still just as stylish, too.
Underneath the "umbrella," the New Balance 2010 offers nice matte leather and mesh textures, plus those signature chunky soles featuring the brand's ABZORB cushioning. It also comes in very satisfying color options, like an earthy "Light Mushroom," neon, and all-black.
The 2010 has enjoyed some killer collabs with sneaker industry top-dogs like Kith, Joe Freshgoods, and Rich Paul. Meanwhile, the brand has also pushed nice in-color options that, paired with its casual dadcore design, make for solid daily sneakers.
And now, it can handle rainy days, too? The 2010 can do no wrong, in my opinion.
It's kind of surprising it's not bigger, given its style and good colorways. Perhaps, that's a good thing, though. Those who get it, get it. And that's all that matters.
New Balance's GORE-TEX 2010 sneakers are now available at some select retailers. As we speak, they're on Footshop's website for €190.00, roughly $212.
