New Balance’s Latest Dad Runner Is Feeling a Little Croc-y
If there’s one thing New Balance knows how to do, it’s make a pair of dad-ish running shoes look suspiciously good. The latest 1300 is no exception, although this time around, it’s bringing a little more personality to the party.
Part of New Balance’s Made in USA Fall/Winter 2026 collection, the 1300 returns in a creamy Angora base with Blue Oyster and Mulled Wine accents.
Don’t get it twisted, it's still very much a New Balance, but the color palette gives the classic sneaker a slightly softer, more seasonal feel.
Then there’s the texture. The usual mesh and suede combo gets a little upgrade here, with embossed pig suede across the overlays that gives the shoe a subtle croc-like finish. You probably won’t clock it from across the street, but get up close and it’s a nice little detail.
The 1300 has always been one of those silhouettes that manages to look equally at home on a morning coffee run or paired with something considerably more considered. This one feels particularly suited to the latter. Throw on some loose pants, a big coat and let the “Mulled Wine” accents do their thing.
Another New Balance for the gray-sneaker faithful to worry about.
