For the launch of New Era x Champion's 19TWENTY capsule collection, Highsnobiety traveled to the "land down under" to help bring out the street style enthusiasts of Melbourne for a day of art, partying, and hats.

The Australia exclusive event was hosted at local skate and streetwear shop, Doomsday Store on Wednesday, December 12. Even though the weather was scorching hot, it didn't stop attendees from rocking their best drip. The heavily skate influenced style of the Melbourne crowd mixed well-known brands like Supreme with staple Australian brands like Butter and Pass~Port layered with summer relaxed fits.

The event also featured American vintage style sign writer TJ Guzzardi hand-painting two Champion baseball bats, which pays homage to America's past time alongside the exclusive hat. The New Era cap drew inspiration from the brands first on-field baseball cap: the New Era 8-panel. However, for a modern twist, the brand used Heritage Navy Wool Pinstripe fabric and added sweatband for the inner headpiece. Getting your hands on this grail will be hard, as the hat saw a very limited drop with only 200 hats worldwide.

Of course, Highsnobiety Soundsystem was present bringing all the vibes through aux cord.

“We worked with the Doomsday team to curate a playlist that showcases Australian talent against a backdrop of emerging international hip hop and electronic acts. Something to set the mood for the party and celebrate the landmark moment of two world-renowned brands coming together for a rare and exciting Australia exclusive.” - Robbie Russell, Highsnobiety Soundsystem.
