Nike's Insane ACG-Hoops Crossover Returns to the Streets
Nike's going all in on its sneaker-boots this season, reviving arguably the craziest stompers of them all: the Air Max Foamdomes.
Yes, it's a mashup of Nike's greatest East Coast hits: the Air Max Goadome outdoor boots and the Foamposite basketball shoes. As for design, Nike basically put the Foamposite's futuristic, wavy uppers on its hardy, Air-cushioned sneaker-boots. And thus, the Foamdomes were born.
They had a run in the early 2000s and then again in 2016. Now, 10 years later, they're back and ready to stomp the streets again. Check on your New York and Baltimore friends. They might've just shed a tear.
Foamdome disciples will be happy to know that the model is expected to return in its original hoops-worthy, winter-ready glory. Expect all the signature touches, plus some iconic colorways.
Official images of the "Eggplant" pair surfaced recently, with Nike bringing back the Foamdome dressed in one of the Foamposite's most famous colorways. They're expected to drop on Nike's website in November.
The return of the Foamdome is really just the tip of the iceberg. Nike has several Goadome drops lined up, including a Goadome Low Foamposite and croc-skin low-tops.
Sneaker-boot season keeps getting better.
