Nike’s Sculpted Air Maxes Belong on the Trails
Nike's Air Max 95 "I-95" sneaker is back and even more hiking-worthy than before.
The ruggedized Air Maxes debuted in January in all-black and were named after the famous Interstate 95, which stretches from Miami to Maine. According to Nike, the initial pairs, which resembled black Air-supported boots, drew inspiration from East Coast biker culture. However, this next batch of colorways really leans into its trail-like charm.
Nike's newest Air Max 95 "I-95" sneakers keep their durable, winter-ready construction, including the sculpted matte uppers. They also again feature the D-ring eyelets and boot-style laces, which make them look like Swoosh-branded Timberlands.
But this time, they come in these nice outdoorsy colorways, like "Medium Olive" and "Wheat." Funny enough, the latter matches the color of Timberland's most famous boots.
Quite a few hardy Nikes will be stomping around this season, including the Nike Air Max Goadome Low and an Air Force 1 Mid GORE-TEX Vibram model. The brand has also revealed GORE-TEX Air Max 95s.
But for those looking for Timbs-flavored Air Maxes, the new Air Max 95 "I-95" sneakers are expected to drop soon on Nike's website for their usual $200.
