Nike's Lazy Skate-y Sneaker Is a Real Trip
The Nike Blazy debuted over the summer as a "relaxed" take on the classic basketball sneaker. It arrived in simple, calm colorways like all-white and green. Today, it's dressed in its trippiest outfit yet.
New season, new Blazy, baby.
Nike's latest Lazy Blazer sneaker features colorful tie-dye work, which covers the oversized Swoosh on the side walls. Meanwhile, the rest of the upper gets decked out in fuzzy mustard yellow suede.
Of course, the Blazy keeps its signature "laidback" soles, which are supposed to look a little slanted. It's meant to give off the impression of reclining and, well, kicking your feet up, hence why it's called a lazy sneaker. Ultimately, though, it looks more like a new kind of cool skate shoe, which is rather fitting.
After all, there is Nike SB version of the Blazer. The model made the transition from the basketball court to skateboarding a very long time ago. Now, it's channeling its roots but on a much more chill scale with the Blazy.
The new tie-dye versions are set to drop on October 9 on Nike Mexico's website for 2,499.00 pesos, about $137 at current exchange rates.
