Jordan’s Dad Shoe Has Entered Its Brown Era
Jordan Brand’s off-court sneaker is dressing for fall. The Trunner O/S has traded brighter shades for a combination of Palomino brown suede, black mesh, and a pale, sculpted sole. A little University Red on the branding gives the otherwise earthy shoe its Jordan signature.
The molded wing wrapping across the midfoot is the shoe’s defining detail. It looks like a piece of turn-of-the-millennium training equipment because that is the Trunner’s lineage: Jordan’s original cross-trainer dates to the late ’90s and early ’00s.
The O/S translates that shape for everyday wear, pairing breathable mesh with suede overlays and Cushlon 3.0 foam underfoot.
It is a dad shoe, certainly, but one with considerably more going on than the usual retro runner. Between the oversized cage, patterned laces, and chunky sole, the Trunner wears its sporting history out in the open. In brown and black, it is also remarkably easy to imagine with the rest of a fall wardrobe.
