Big coat wearers REJOICE, for the cold weather is finally here!

Since the turn of April, I’ve been rigorously performing a daily rain dance in my front garden in the hope for some jacket weather, before retreating to my cave to accompany my GORE-TEX arsenal throughout the off-season.

Of course some of that might not be true (although some of it is), but what I’m getting at is that this is the season to be jolly – and 'tis also the season to layer.

Like clockwork: a new season brings with it a new Palace collection, and if the brand's lookbook is anything to go by, we’re pretty much done and dusted already.

Jackets, jackets, and more jackets are met with typically bold Palace motifs, and arrive in an ensemble of winter-ready hues and, in some cases, with matching pants for good measure.

Captured in the heart of Palace’s London home, the collection isn’t all about deepest darkest winter. Transitional pieces also look to play a key part this season, with plaid and denim shirting joined by fleece numbers, sweaters, and hoodies, of course.

With past lookbooks, Palace has often given a teaser of upcoming collaborations, yet this time around they’re keeping things a little closer to their chests.

Talking of collabs, this lookbook release comes fresh off the back of its debut link-up with serial collaborators New Balance, with whom they dropped two pairs of the Boston-based label’s 580 silhouette.

In typical Palace style, Winter 2022 will drop in installments weekly online from October 8, and when it’s gone it’s gone. Period.
