Red Dead Online is the multiplayer component of critically acclaimed video game, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Rockstar Games has announced an update for the online title that brings a battle royale-style mode to the game dubbed, "Gun Rush."

The new game mode will include up to 32 players dropped into a battle, with the last player standing as they search for weapons and ammunition in a shrinking play area. With the popularity of Fortnite, it’s no surprise that other video game developers are exploring the space. The game mode will also be available in free-for-all and team variations.

Rockstar also said that Red Dead Online will stay in beta form for the next few months, however, they are planning to add new missions, more dynamic events, new competitive modes, weapons, clothing and more.

Both Red Dead Online beta and Red Dead Redemption 2 are available now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As of today, Xbox One players can now have access to a variety of items in Red Dead Online that were previously exclusive to the PS4, such as the Red Chestnut Arabian Horse, Alligator Skin Ranch Cutter Saddle and the High Roller Double-Action Revolver.
