RED has unveiled the newest addition to its high-performance line of professional-grade cameras, the SCARLET-W. The entry-level model can be combined with RED's DRAGON sensor to shoot 5K raw video at 60 frames per second. With its lightweight design, support for different formats, integrated mounting points and interchangeable lens mounts, the SCARLET-W offers a versatility that should appease both amateur and professional content creators.

Back in September, RED debuted the RAVEN, a 4K camera priced at $5,950. While many suggested the RAVEN would be good for drone use, the SCARLET-W is intended to be a main camera.
