Double Tap to Zoom

Karol G can spot a classic—can you? We caught up with Reebok’s latest campaign star at a moment when music, fashion, and heritage feel more intertwined than ever for the brand. The global superstar has long blurred the lines between stage presence and street style, building a visual identity as powerful as her sound. Now, as the face of Reebok’s latest Classics campaign, she’s stepping into another arena; one rooted in heritage, culture and the enduring power of self-expression.

Titled “Born Classic. Worn for Life.”, the campaign celebrates timeless silhouettes and the icons who made them matter, from Princess Diana to Jane Fonda. For Karol G, whose own style has evolved from bold, high-impact statements to something more intimate and emotionally driven, the message resonates deeply. Reebok’s legacy stands at the intersection of fashion, sport and culture, and mirrors her own journey: authentic, instinctive and rooted in movement.

Reebok, Reebok

In our conversation, she reflects on how her personal style has shifted over the years, why Reebok has always felt like a natural fit, and what it means to channel Princess Diana’s iconic early ’90s jumper-shorts look through her own lens. From the enduring appeal of the Freestyle silhouette to finding confidence in your own “classic,” Karol G opens up about legacy, individuality and the quiet rituals that keep her grounded beyond the spotlight.

How has your personal style evolved since you first started performing?

Fashion has always felt natural to me. I don’t dress for trends or approval. My style is rooted in authenticity and how I feel in the moment. At the beginning, it was louder and more expressive. Now it feels more personal, more emotional, less about statements, and more about telling my story.

What drew you to Reebok and made you feel connected to the brand?

Reebok has always existed at the intersection of fashion, sport, and culture. It’s a brand I’ve loved since I was a kid, so the connection felt very natural from the start.

The campaign is called “Born Classic. Worn for Life.” How does that message resonate with you?

I love how timeless it is. Classics evolve with every generation, they take on new meaning, but they never lose who they are. That’s what makes them everlasting.

Reebok celebrates icons like Princess Diana and Jane Fonda. What does it mean to step into that legacy?

They were powerful in their own way. Their impact went far beyond fashion — it was about confidence, movement, and presence. Being connected to that legacy feels special, especially as someone who believes in individuality and inner strength, and who expresses that through how I move and live every day.

In the campaign, you channel Princess Diana’s early ’90s jumper-shorts look. How did you make it your own?

That was actually my favorite look from the campaign. We kept the spirit of Princess Diana as an icon, but played with color, movement, and styling so it felt true to me.

Can you walk us through your creative process for the campaign?

“Born Classic. Worn for Life.” is about how people move and express themselves in Reebok. We wanted to capture that confidence and energy, and show how different generations shape culture in their own way. Everything felt very natural, honest, and full of movement.

Do you have a favorite silhouette from the collection?

Definitely the Freestyle. It has such a strong legacy, but it still feels effortless. It’s versatile, confident, and timeless.

Which part of Reebok Classics’ heritage do you connect with most, and how do you make it your own?

The sense of legacy and community. Reebok has always stood for more than sneakers, it’s about movement, culture, and self-expression. I connect with that deeply, and I make it my own by bringing my background, my energy, and my way of living into everything I wear.

What advice would you give to someone finding their own “classic” style?

Listen to yourself. Wear what feels right and authentic to you. Confidence is what truly makes something feels classic.

Given your busy schedule making music and touring, and now, your work with Reebok, how do you like to unwind?

Home is where I truly unwind. It's my safe place. Spending time with my family grounds me and reminds me of who I am beyond the stage. I love being around my animals, moving my body in ways that feel good, and taking moments to slow down and reconnect with myself. Whether it’s painting, traveling, or simply being present, those quiet moments help me reset, recharge, and stay inspired.
