At this point, how there is a Samba colorway that's not already been introduced is beyond us. adidas however, never fails to surprise. Case and point.

The Samba "Pink/Black" takes the silhouette everyone already owns and turns the dial up just enough. The entire upper is dressed in a soft, glossy pink, lustrous, light-catching, and a little bit unexpected.

But it's the material play that makes it interesting. The T-toe is finished in warm blushy suede, creating a tonal contrast that shifts depending on the light. Then there are the laces, actual delicate fabric lace. Same colour family, completely different feel. It’s the small tweaks that count, right?

Then the black hits land loudly, for fear of mistaking it for some other model. Heavy leather Three Stripes on the side, black heel tab, sharp and deliberate as usual, is the kind of detail that stops the whole thing from tipping into saccharine.

The contrast between the soft, almost pearl-like pink body and the strong black gives the Samba a refined edge that feels more grown-up than your average pastel colorway.

Underneath, the gum sole does what it always does: it keeps things grounded and retro without trying too hard.

For a sneaker that has been everywhere for the past few years and shows absolutely no signs of stopping. In a colorway like this, it's not hard to see why.
