Highsnobiety
Double Tap to Zoom

Whenever I listen to Soft Glas, my body gets hit with this warm, tingling sensation. It starts all the way down in my toes, slowly working its way up toward my face until my cheeks are flushed. There are few artists that have the ability to leave that type of impression on you, but it's a special talent that Joao Gonzalez seems to have inherited in addition to his skills as a producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist. Today, we're premiering the reflective lyric video for his new single "Just Bright."

Soft Glas told us that the woozy track is a "nostalgic love letter to my childhood home" of Coral Springs, Florida. It's the first song that he wrote after putting out his 2017 album, Orange Earth, and marks a "sobering realization that my next step is to create a new space to call home." He candidly adds, "I want to recreate that warmth and comfort, but so far... I feel like I’ve failed."

It may or may not help with seasonal affective disorder (S.A.D.), but you'll definitely feel like you're being smothered by a security blanket of sorts. Stream the full song through the visual below.
