As Sony's PlayStation 5 launch approaches, new details have emerged about its upcoming availability. According to a Reddit page that outlines data-mined information from a new PlayStation website — PlayStation Direct — customers will be limited to purchasing one PlayStation 5 per person.

The webpage code suggests that customers will only be able to “purchase one version of the PS5™ Console: Disc or Digital” in their order. If true, this could be Sony's way of managing the supply and demand for the highly-anticipated launch (which is projected to comprise 10 million units).

It won't be straight forward to sidestep this policy. Customers cannot simply pre-order from multiple retailers as pre-orders will be done directly via PlayStation alongside traditional third-party retailers.

The backend code also reportedly reveals images for a “PS5 Compatible” badge, which Reddit users speculate could be used for cross-gen titles from the PlayStation 4. This corresponds with Sony's announcement that “almost all” of its most popular titles will be backward compatible starting day one of the PlayStation 5’s release date.

Head over to Reddit to read the full summary of the PlayStation Direct source code leaks.
