Sneaker wedges and their corporate-focused cousins, snoafers, have been having their way with the mixed-method shoe genre, but now, with temperatures dropping, UGG is in the prime position to take over the scene with its own weighty contribution to the amalglam-happy shoe era we're currently in.

 The Ondira takes the twin-face sheepskin of a classic tall UGG boot and sets it on top of a rubber outsole that's as unexpected as it is functional.

As the story goes, UGG boots were originally designed for the easygoing surfer lifestyle in 1978 before being swept up in the wintertime and cemented into aughts era fashion forever, right next to rhinestone flip phones and velour tracksuits.

Since then, the boots' place within the footwear scene has ebbed and flowed from basic to brilliant and everything in between.

But now, UGG is sticking that lovely lamb upper on top of a rubber outsole that looks better suited for the tracks than an early 2000s mall food court. Ok so these aren't exactly Usain Bolt-certified, but they are decidedly sportier than UGG's classic boot makes.
