To say Vans has been on a hot streak lately would be the understatement of the century. But now the skatewear brand is making it abundantly clear that it's carrying the footwear flame forward for all the thrashers out there.

The Vans Old Skool 36 LX "Archive Flame" sneaker pack is a piping hot revival of Vans' signature flame sneaker design from the 90s.

In line with the luxury leanings Vans has been prioritizing as of late, the Vans Old Skool 36 LX sneaker wears a full leather upper with stitched-on gradient flames spread across the upper, interrupted only by a white Jazz Stripe. The outsole is also pre-scuffed up with black markings reminiscent of smudged ashes.

From top to bottom, this sneaker is a total smokeshow.

Available on the Vans website for $105, the Archive Flame Old Skool 36 LX sneaker has quite the biker feel to it, thanks to the distressed foxing, fire flames, and pebbled leather. Basically, it's a biker jacket for your feet.

A white/blue colorway and a green/purple colorway round out the three-part sneaker collection, but the black Old Skool 36 LX sneaker looks the most like the original flame release, which was first brought back from the Vans archive in 2017.

But this iteration, though heavily referential, is more in line with Vans' more recent releases like the keyed-up "Chanel" sneaker and pearlized camo slip-ons. Through a mix of subtle upgrades and rugged deconstruction, Vans has put itself back on the map in a big way.
