Editors Notes: There's a new ACRONYM collection incoming and you won't be surprised to learn that it is filled with utilitarian perfection that cost a king's ransom.

Since being founded in 1994, the label has built a reputation for its ultra-futuristic and functional wares. Of course, this is reflected across all its product but when it comes to techwear the focus tends to be on outerwear — and the German brand never disappoints in that department.

ACRONYM
1 / 6

The J96-GT is the latest outerwear model to join the label's fleet of hi-tech jackets. The new design includes six pockets, a removable sling to keep the jacket strapped to you when it's not worn, and magnetic ForceLock at the collar to attach your Airpods — something like the 2022 version of headphone wire holes. It's also made from highly breathable 3L GORE-TEX® PRO fabric with a solution-dyed Micro Grid™ backer for a reduced environmental footprint.

However, it's the removable hood that really makes this piece stand out. Able to slip into one of the six pockets on the front of the design, the hood can be replaced with a matching GORE-TEX bucket hat that also has a storage pocket on the jacket. Owning an ACRONYM jacket already puts you in an elite group of function-focused enthusiasts and having a matching waterproof bucket hat for your jacket only elevates that.

And if you want to go for a full techwear look — which let's be honest is the best way to style ACRONYM — then there are also trousers to match.

Beating the J96-GT jacket in the pocket game is the brand's P39-M pants, including a total of eight pockets. With one designed specifically to hold a phone, it joins the jacket with it's AirPod magnet to make sure you always know where your tech is. Wear the jacket and trousers together and you can quit patting yourself down for your AirPods or phone and instead reach for the appropriate storage compartment.

The drop also includes the P10A-E, a cargo pant with an equal focus on including a pocket for every occasion. Crafted from encapsulated nylon, this pair delivers a more outwardly utilitarian option. Releasing on the Highsnobiety shop on March 31, check out all the tech-savvy products that are dropping as part of the ACRONYM SS22 collection in the gallery above. And get ready these pieces are going to sell out quickly.
