Editor’s Notes: adidas Originals has unveiled the latest drop in its A-ZX lineup, the ZX 8000 Superstar, representing the letter ‘S’. Coinciding with the 50-year celebration of adidas’ iconic shell-toe sneaker, the ZX 8000 Superstar is a bold amalgamation of two of the brand’s most beloved silhouettes, fusing the chunky retro appeal of the ZX 8000 with the Superstar’s signature shell toe.

Delivering the best of both, the ZX 8000 Superstar adopts the ZX 8000’s retro running silhouette complete with a heel cage and adds a digitally printed overlay image of the original Superstar onto its leather upper, as well as stitching around the sole. No Superstar hybrid would be complete without a nod to the shell-toe, which features here as a tromp l’oeil print on the toe box.

This release is part of adidas’ A-ZX program, a series of 26 ZX sneakers dropping throughout 2020-21. To see what’s dropped so far and what’s coming next, head here.
