Rumors that Apple is planning to release AirPods with a wireless charging case have been circulating since last year, but now Twitter leaker Max Weinbach has suggested that Apple's next-gen AirPods will come with a huge charging upgrade.

As reported by 9to5mac, Weinbach states that the AirPods can be charged from zero to 100 percent in just fifteen minutes. For reference, Apple's current AirPods only last three hours after a 15-minute charge so if true, this is a huge improvement.

The increased charging speed is down to the integration of Qi coils. However, that will mean that the charging case will be thicker,  heavier and possibly slightly longer. The AirPods themselves are also rumored to get an upgrade to look less glossy and more matte, similar to the Apple Pencil 2.

However, the website states that while Weinbach is known as a reputable Android leaker, he is still relatively new to the Apple world, so don't take these leaks as confirmed just yet.
