ASICS has come through with another new runner worthy of being your next summer go-to. The GEL-KYRIOS is the latest hybrid model from the Japanese brand. Bringing a fresh look and modernized technology to a noughties favorite and designed to bring comfort, freedom of movement and rhythm to your daily routine.

ASICS launched their first hybrid model, the GEL-KAYANO 5 360, last year, and has since proved repeatedly that they know a thing or two about the delicate balancing act of blending sneaker designs. Applying a similar formula as they have done for previous hybrids, the GEL-KYRIOS takes inspiration from 2005’s GEL-HELIOS and merges it with the modernized and technology loaded GEL-KIRIL tooling.

Staying close to the original, the GEL-KYRIOS features a layered mesh and leather upper, combining it with modern tooling on the outsole, which has been revamped with FLYTEFOAM Propel technology and well as GEL technology cushioning in the heel and forefoot.

On the sneaker, designer Kenichi Kawano says, “Having worked on the design of the original GEL-HELIOS training shoe from 2005, I wanted to reimagine its key functionality features with modernized components that appeal to today’s performance running trend in street style.”

In honor of the sneaker’s performance origins, the first drop sees it delivered in two sporty colorways – white with hits of silver and blue, and black with touches of red.
