ASICSTIGER continues to layer its wavy GEL-Kayano Trainer Knit silhouette with fresh and vibey colorways for summer, this time aimed at women for FW17.

To kick off the drop, ASICSTIGER accompany the release with the second installment of its film series I am self. I am tribe, which explores personal senses of style, individuality and what it is to be part of a tribe in the modern era. Part two features German blogger and YouTuber Katharina Damm. In it, the influential writer recounts her personal journey, from being born and raised in the tropical Philippines before studying and working in Germany and now dividing her time across Europe and in her favorite city, Barcelona.

Its in the Catalan capital on the shores of the Mediterranean that we uncover one of the most important bonds in Damm’s life: the one with her sister, Anna-Maria Damm. For them, their close relationship has influenced and inspired Katharina and supported both of them as they move from country to country. This is what being in a 'tribe' means for Katharina.

As for the drop itself, the female-focussed ASICSTIGER GEL-Kayano Knit pack comes in two colorways of Birch and Gossamer Green—reflecting the tropical background of the Damm sisters. Bright and paste-hued visual references scatter the film, nodding to the references that inspired the colorways themselves. The low-key GEL-Kayano Knit style uses a single thread to create its minimal knitted upper, which is then encompassed by the matching pastel-shaded cage from using the ASICS stripe. All this rests on the distinctive and contrasting white outsole.
