The 2019 Bentley Bentayga V8 is as powerful as it is luxurious. Equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, the new SUV is a beast that balances the brand's indelible craftsmanship with immense power and instant acceleration under the hood. To test out the Bentayga's cutting-edge V8 engine, distinct capabilities and luxury charm, Bentley handed over the keys to pilot their newest beauty.

The Bentayga V8 is brilliantly responsive in the urban environment but truly thrilling on the open road, so we escaped the bustling streets of New York City for a short road trip up to the charming and luxurious Hasbrouck House in Stone Ridge, NY. The natural beauty of the mountainous terrain reflecting off the SUV's handcrafted cabin resulted in the ultimate luxury experience. The car’s agile, sporty driving experience paired with the V8 engine made it feel like a breeze as we glided through windy roads and mountain sides.

Starting at $165,000, the new Bentley can go 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds) with a top speed of 180 mph. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 542 brake horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque, while the 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 makes 600 bhp and 664 lb-ft. It's equipped with optional carbon-ceramic brakes, which are world’s largest front brake system alongside Bentley's "Dynamic Ride," the world’s first electric active roll control technology for a more smoother, stable handle.

On the inside, the spacious cabin is fully a Bentley experience. Everything from the finest leather upholstery, wool carpets, carbon fibre trim, and the machined alloy switches and dials are handcrafted with luxury in mind. It's like a five-star hotel on wheels. There are even massagers in the chairs. Customers can also personalize their Bentayga to meet any satisfaction with an array of colors, finishes, materials, and mechanical options. It's that level of detail and craftsmanship that makes Bentley stand out from the rest.
