This Retro Rerun Inspired the YEEZY 500
Connecting with South America's most influential skate and streetwear destination, the Three Stripes teams up with São Paulo's Guadalupe for one of the most compelling adidas drops in a long time. Say hello to the GDLP x adidas Intimidation.
The Intimidation first launched back in 1999 as a bold member of adidas’ legendary "Feet You Wear" (FYW) basketball lineage whose anatomical, foot-shaped midsole tooling later famously underpinned the Yeezy 500.
Based in Brazil, Guadalupe (GDLP) has spent over a decade acting as a central pillar for Latin American youth culture. Seemingly, the Brazilian retailer has a special talent for design, too, transforming the archival ‘90s basketball trainer into a tactile masterpiece.
GDLP leans into a rugged, winter-ready finish with one of the best tactile suedes we’ve seen in a while. The hairy texture combines beautifully with the rich, earthy tone of the upper for a heavy, organic finish.
Beyond the plush, hairy suede that wraps the entire upper, dark neoprene underlays offer contrast while subtle golden co-branded hits on the insole and heel bring a visual lift. Thick rope laces and heavy-duty pull tabs reinforce the boot-like, utilitarian build.
Down below, the signature bulky Feet You Wear sculpted foam midsole echoes the organic character of the upper with its podular cushioning that was made famous in the Yeezy lineup.
