Double Tap to Zoom

In a harmonious collaboration, Cognac Maison Bisquit & Dubouché and multimedia artist Jillian Mayer have joined forces to create an exclusive installation for Frieze Los Angeles.

Founded over 200 years ago, Bisquit & Dubouché is defined by its rebellious spirit that follows intuition over conventional methods of creation. The brand truly sets itself apart from other cognacs through a radical double distillation process that creates a distinctly smooth and mellow taste, which further served as the inspiration for Mayer’s installation.

Titled “Glass Room”, the immersive artwork invites visitors to experience Mayer’s in-depth interpretation of Bisquit & Dubouché’s unique process. Drawing inspiration from the hypnotic process of swirling the cognac in a snifter while surrounding guests in visions of amber, burgundy, and sepia-hues, Mayer’s installation proves to be not only visually arresting, but its intricacies also go beyond what is readily seen.

After learning that glass, copper, and heat were three defining elements used in Bisquit & Dubouché’s process, Mayer was prompted to incorporate the same materials in her installation as an added nod to cognac’s distinct methods and the artist’s knack for comprehensive work.

“Glass Room” will be on view at Bisquit & Dubouché’s Frieze Los Angeles lounge starting February 17th. Visit here for more information.
