Camper is back at it again with another boundary pushing shoe, and we're wondering if they might be on to something so crazy it just might change everything we know about sneakers. Camper's latest creation comes in the form of its ROKU shoe line. More than just a line of shoes, ROKU is a revolutionary concept that challenges traditional norms and sets the stage for a new era of unisex footwear, and continues to challenge our understanding of what a shoe can be.

"ROKU," derived from the Japanese word for "six," encapsulates the essence of this one-of-a-kind collection. A fusion of sustainability and Camper's iconic Wabi aesthetic, ROKU introduces a modular, ergonomic design inspired by the organic shapes and functionality of traditional Japanese objects. Comprising six interchangeable components, the shoe boasts a cushioned footbed, a soft knitted upper, a 3D sock, laces, and an XL EXTRALIGHT® SUSTAINABLE+ lightweight outsole. The latter, crafted from 51% pre-consumer recovered scraps and by-products, reflects Camper's commitment to reducing landfill waste, making a bold statement about responsible fashion.

Camper, Camper

What sets ROKU apart is not just its design but also its innovative packaging. Available as an assembled shoe or disassembled across four packs, ROKU empowers wearers to become the architects of their footwear. This unique approach to customization aligns with Camper's ethos of celebrating individuality and creativity. The wearers are no longer just consumers; they are co-creators, actively participating in an ever-evolving fashion narrative.

A result of two years of meticulous planning and development, ROKU is a testament to Camper's commitment to pushing boundaries. The design team shares insights into the creation process, stating, "We envisioned a shoe that every Camper enthusiast could enjoy in their unique way. While the concept was complex, the result is a shoe that is refreshingly simple to make, reflecting the harmony of complexity and simplicity."

Camper, Camper

ROKU pioneers a minimalistic design philosophy, featuring an innovative one-piece knit technology that not only reduces CO2 emissions but also aligns seamlessly with Camper's ultimate zero-waste goal. By forgoing traditional glues, ROKU enables easy disassembly, repair, and full reusability. Going beyond its conceptual self as just a shoe, it's also a conscious step towards a more responsible and circular fashion industry.

The color palette for ROKU is a visual feast, ranging from timeless black and white to versatile khaki and a vibrant shade of red. For those who opt for the disassembled version, the possibilities are endless. With up to 64 different looks and color combinations to explore, ROKU encourages wearers to experiment, redefine, and truly make the shoe their own.

Camper, Camper

As the fashion world shifts towards conscious consumerism, ROKU is putting a foot in the right direction in terms of responsible fashion. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, ROKU is a commitment to reducing waste and making fashion more accessible and sustainable. It's a realization that fashion is more than just what we wear—it's how we walk through the world.

The ROKU collection has been unveiled in select Camper stores worldwide, retailers, and camper.com. You can also listen to Camper's ROKU-inspired playlist.
