What happens when a techy ASICS sneaker starts taking ballet lessons? The GEL-DS Trainer SP is born.

It's essentially the previous GEL-DS Trainer 14 but gone "sneakerina." The ballet-coded SP version keeps the techy mesh uppers and slightly chunky GEL-cushioned soles. However, it ditches the tongue and welcomes a ballet-style lacing system.

And boom, there you have it: an ASICS ballerina trainer.

It's not necessarily surprising coming from the Japanese sneaker brand. It honestly helped push the ballet sneaker craze forward through its collaborations, which include Cecilie Bahnsen's GT-2160 Mary Janes and, most recently, a ruffled flat sneaker dreamed up by Empty Behavior.

With the GEL-DS Trainer SP, the "sneakerina" phenomenon continues.
