Although ASICS has been pumping out fire general release sneakers over the past few months (in part due to Kiko Kostadinov’s move in-house at the Japanese sportswear giant), the brand’s collaborations are still some of the best in the industry. One such collaboration is the long-standing partnership with Berlin-based GmbH, who recently shared a preview of an upcoming co-branded ASICS GEL-Quantum 360.

GmbH and ASICS had previously worked on the model for FW20, choosing to unveil the collab during its Paris Fashion Week runway show. Fast-forward 18 months and the brand built around founders Serhat Işık and Benjamin A. Huseby has again used Paris Fashion Week as a means to give the world a first glimpse at what’s to come.

The GmbH x ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 returns for Spring/Summer 2022 and shares many of the same features that made the first FW20 collections so popular, the highlight of which is the asymmetric color blocking that give the sneakers a mismatched aesthetic.

Whereas the FW20 offering arrived in three colorways — black/white, purple/orange, and a tonal white/off-white — the SS22 collection looks to comprise black and gold and white/gold/yellow colorways.

The GmbH x ASICS GEL-Quantum features the model’s 360 sole unit, which offers heel-to-toe GEL cushioning and is one of ASICS’ biggest draws, as the shoes tend to be some of the most comfortable on the market. Interestingly, the sneaker also features the GEL-Kayano Trainer’s heel tab, giving the shoe a slight hybrid twist.

Neither GmbH nor ASICS has offered concrete information as to when the sneakers will be released, however, it’s likely that we’ll see them in the coming months.
