Gorillaz may be readying to drop a new collaboration with Tame Impala. The band's animated guitarist Noodle shared a post on Instagram over the weekend, hinting at a possible release with the Kevin Parker-led group.

The social media post, which tags Tame Impala, features an image of Gorillaz superimposed over the cover of Tame Impala’s 2015 album, Currents. Gorillaz's recent collab with slowthai and Slaves was teased in similar fashion.

Gorillaz recently kicked off an ongoing audiovisual project titled Song Machine, an episodic series featuring various collaborators, centered around new songs. The slowthai and Slaves-assisted "Momentary Bliss" was the first release from the program.

"In direct opposition to the usual traditional recording/single/album release cycle, the band again breaks convention in their own round the back door fashion with the spontaneous delivery of episodes throughout the year," Gorillaz said in a press release.

So with new releases slated to arrive in the weeks and months ahead, a collaboration with Tame Impala may serve as the second drop from Song Machine. As always, be sure to check back with us for more.
