Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy has released his latest sunglasses collection.
Back in 2016, Rubchinskiy released his first shades capsule at Pitti Uomo. Released in partnership with Italian brand RETROSUPERFUTURE, the bold frames were spotted in the designer’s east-meets-west-sportswear collection. Two years on, the duo has released two new styles.
Previously seen at Rubchinskiy’s St. Petersburg show in June last year — the one featuring that iconic adidas hair cut — the brands’ latest drop celebrates mutual influences shared between Russia and Western Europe through the scope of youth culture.
“Visually, our new collaboration is very different from the previous one,” Rubschinkiy told i-D. “Nevertheless, it conveys the same mood and memories of the raves of the 90s. Bright colored lenses and metal frames, parties with electronic music, mixed with the feeling of summer.”
Alongside the collection, Gosha also collaborated with photographer Tom Emmerson on a zine which digs deeper into British rave culture.
The second Gosha Rubchinskiy sunglasses collection is available now at Dover Street Market.
