Editor’s Notes:

Issey Miyake’s Homme Plissé label has long been a fan favorite at Highsnobiety for its signature pleating technique, and their FW20 offering is one of the best we’ve seen yet. The experimental label has played with color in the past, but they went full gas on the palette this season. Inspired by the sounds of a jazz session, a mix of saturated hues are splashed across a series of shirts, trousers, and jackets for one of the boldest fall collections ever.

The tuxedo capsule is equally impressive and opts for bright, solid color options to break up the formality of it all. It’s also made from denser fabrics to ensure the silhouette stays sharp and drapes well on the body. Taking the jazz theme a step further, Homme Plissé enlisted Japanese design unit Goo Choki Par to create graphics of music instruments — a trumpet, saxophone, double bass, piano, and drums — strewn across a series of outerwear.

Everything in this collection can be easily mixed and matched, not unlike a classic jazz jam session. Browse our favorite looks above and head to isseymiyake.com to peep the entire collection from the runway show.
