Colombian reggaeton superstar J Balvin teased an upcoming Nike Air Jordan 1 collaboration on Instagram yesterday, telling his followers that he’d unveil his sneaker in full during last night’s Super Bowl LIV.
The sneaker looks to be constructed using a colorful, tie-dye canvas with excess material around the Swoosh, ankle collar, and toe box. The singer’s signature smiley face logo is present on the heel, and the tongue features exposed foam.
Balvin worked with Jordan Brand NRG legend Franklin Cook (aka @frankcooker on Instagram), who posted the sneaker to his page, writing a lengthy caption congratulating the singer and the rest of the Jordan Brand team that worked on the sneaker.
Cooke wrote: “I was so scared to alter such a legendary shoe and distort such pristine design lines. Much love to the Jumpman fam […] for helping me craft the initial vision.”
