Jacob & Co.

Whether you're a lover of watches or you prefer the faster things in life, Jacob & Co.'s newest timepiece is something for you. In a continued partnership with Bugatti, the watchmaker has delivered another Chiron-inspired watch.

The Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon Baguette Black and Orange – yeah, it's a mouthful – reproduces the iconic Bugatti 16-cylinder engine on your wrist. That is if the Chiron engine had an 18K white gold tonneau case, 190 baguette white diamonds, 109 baguette black sapphires, and 42 baguette orange sapphire — all invisibly set!

The watch is once again fitted with Jacob & Co.'s JCAM37 manual winding movement. However, Bugatti's influence continues in the timepieces' operation. It features a 16-piston animation and two “turbochargers” (compared to four in the actual Bugatti Chiron engine) that spin when activated.  The watch also has a 60-hour power reserve and a “fuel” power reserve indicator.

Like the supercar that inspired it, the watch is an exercise in pure excess. It's a maximalist, over-the-top love letter to the Bugatti Chiron, which seems to be a time-telling instrument only coincidentally. To get a sense of the impact of this watch, you have to see it doing its thing. Thankfully, Jacob & Co. posted an up-close video of the Chiron Tourbillon, which you can check out below.

So what does a diamond-infested luxury watch inspired by one of the world's most expensive cars cost? Well, the Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron engine watch is under the brand’s “Pièce Unique” category so pricing is currently only available upon request. And if that doesn't say enough the 2020 Chiron Tourbillon's $280,000 pricetag says the rest.
