Editor's Notes: In case you didn't get the memo, comfort is the name of the game. Over the last year and a half, we've witnessed comfort-focused, slip-on footwear has had a huge moment – a moment that doesn't seem any closer to an end.

Gone are the days where we were limited by choice and scratching our heads, wondering if Crocs were socially acceptable for anything more than gardening. If anything, we've reached the point of being spoilt for choice. Between Reebok's Beatniks, a plethora of mules, clogs, slides, and sandals, the possibilities of tackling a cozier way of life are endless.

One contender in the world of slip-on footwear is Merrell 1TRL. Perfectly equipt for a life of outdoor adventure (trips to the shop to re-up on oat milk included), Merrel has made waves with its water-ready HydroMoc silhouette.

At first glance, you'd be forgiven for thinking these were Crocs' edgier older cousin due to the cut-out EVA construction, but these are so much more. The footwear of choice for beach-dwellers and water sportspeople alike, the Mocs are celebrated for their water-draining capabilities and soft footbed. You'd be hard-pressed to miss a pair striding by given the brightly marbled colorways on offer – further bolstered by the latest round of options.

Expanding the brand's offering and providing something even more casual is the new Hydro Slide. Similar in design and function to its Moc counterpart, the Slide will take you from A-B with your toes free.

Merrell says it itself, these aren't for everyone, but they might be for you.
