Montblanc's 100th Birthday Party Was Rich Like Leather
You know you have to do something special when you turn 100. And for Montblanc, the historic luxury leather maison, that meant a splashy VIP get-together in NYC. And we were there to soak it all in.
The event was held just before the kick-off of New York Fashion Week at the Crane Club. which is on the far west side of Manhattan. It's a stunning venue. But, you're shocking because when you enter, it seems like a small space, just a hallway.
And then you turn the corner and it's a huge space that was filled with all these beautiful Montblanc moments — I immediately was drawn to the Traveler Briefcase, which was done up as a giant custom display that looked and acted like a step and repeat.
There were a ton of people milling about in beautiful tailored clothes. Even the hors d'oeuvres were sophisticated: arancini balls with caviar, which felt very rich. Rich like Montblanc leather.
Honey Dijon DJ'ed, which really put everyone in a mood to kick off a big week of activity. Despite how elevated it all felt, the vibe was casual, a kind of "return to school" vibe. Everyone was catching up with old friends. Old friends with good taste and elegant clothes.
Looking back, it felt super elevated for NY. And for Montblanc, an exciting development in its next chapter.
