New Balance has gone properly red with this one, and frankly, we’re not mad about it. There’s red, and then there’s this kind of red. Vibrant and impossible to miss, with little flashes of pink thrown in for good measure.

Meet the New Balance 1890P in Team Red with Pink Eraser.

The result is a sneaker that feels like it has absolutely no interest in blending into the background. The pops of pink break up all that red nicely, giving the whole thing a slightly playful edge rather than letting it become one giant block of color. It’s loud, but in a way that feels considered rather than chaotic.

The 1890P itself has a suitably substantial shape, with plenty of layering and texture across the upper. It has that technical, slightly futuristic quality that makes the color feel even more at home. Put a muted outfit underneath it and let the sneakers do all the talking.

Because really, the red is the whole point. It’s the kind of colorway you put on when you’ve decided your sneakers are allowed to have a personality. The little hits of pink only amplify that.
