And for the New Balance 991, perhaps a sweet and spicy makeover? Yes, indeed.

New Balance's latest Made in U.K. 991v2 sneaker arrives in a bold red colorway called "Grenadine." It's interesting because grenadine is a sweet syrup used in both cocktails and mocktails, made from pomegranate juice (the real kind, not the artificial kind with loads of high-fructose corn syrup).

And the 991s are part of this "Vibrant Chroma" pack, which also includes a blue "Limoges" colorway. The red and blue sneakers represent fire and ice.

Essentially, as sweet as the "Grenadine" pairs may be, they also have a little heat in their step. Think of them even as the "Potter's Clay" 991s, but doused in a sweet chili sauce.

Beyond the tasteful color scheme, the sneaker itself is well-designed. Having been put together at the brand's England factory, the 991 features quality materials, such as luxurious suede and mesh uppers. Of course, it's all bathed in this sweet-spicy scheme plus grey accents.

As we speak, New Balance's "Grenadine" 991v2 sneakers are now available on the brand's website for $270, alongside the "Limoges" versions, ice-cold French blues and all.
