Nike’s Colorful Retro Runner Is Screaming Serious Vintage Track Energy
Nike’s All Conditions Gear line has already had plenty of lives, but this latest colorway might be one of its loudest yet. Blue takes over the upper, yellow pops up around the sole and tongue, and the whole thing has that unmistakable retro runner feel.
The ACG LDV has always had a slightly strange charm to it. It’s low and narrow where it needs to be, chunky at the heel, and just a little bit awkward in the best possible way. Throw in this particularly bright palette and it suddenly feels even more at home in the ACG world.
There’s a lot of blue goin’ on here, from the Hyper Royal upper through to the darker hits around the heel and sole. Then comes the Lemon Venom, adding just enough contrast to stop things from becoming one big block of blue. It’s loud, but not in the overly technical, covered-in-panels way some gorpy sneakers can be.
And despite all that ACG energy, the LDV still looks like a proper old-school running shoe underneath it all. That’s what makes this colorway work. It has the outdoorsy attitude, but the silhouette keeps it rooted in Nike’s archive.
