To make these good-looking "College Navy" Air Forces, Nike had to go back to 2001.

The latest sneaker indeed follows the 2001 AF1 build, which includes a lower profile, a somewhat slimmer look, and better materials. Of course, the platformed Air soles remain in place.

Then, Nike comes in with this nice navy and grey color scheme, resulting in an Air Force 1 that's not only true to the early 2000s design but also very good-looking overall.

What's more, it ain't the only one. Nike has prepared a full lineup of '01-built Air Forces, including pairs dressed in nice "Light Army" and "Maroon" schemes. It's also released cracked-leather versions, which really speak to its classic charm.

Of course, the '07 Air Force 1 Lows are still around. In fact, Nike just revealed some delicious cinnamon-flavored leather iterations. But as the world continues to obsess over the shoes and fashions from the "old days," the return of the 2001 Forces came at the right time.

The iconic all-white versions are already out. But the Air Force 1 '01 Low "College Navy" sneakers are expected to drop on Nike's website before the year ends, alongside the other schemes.
