This year is likely going to be a strong year for fans of UNC-inspired colorways, with a couple of Nike Air Jordan 1s and an Air Jordan 4 reportedly set to be released featuring the famous Carolina university blue hue. Adding to the hype and anticipation, UNC’s equipment team has unveiled a Player Edition version of the Nike Air Jordan 5, which will be given to players and staff of the UNC men’s football team.

The sneaker features a leather upper with an all-over UNC blue elephant print. The sneaker’s tongue is a deep navy blue suede and features the university’s logo embroidered on the front. A white midsole gives way to navy and white speckled details, as well as an icy-blue outsole. “Nike Air” branding is present on the heel, giving the shoe a certified OG look.
