Roger Federer's signature On sneaker line doesn't even produce the Swiss sportswear giant's most stylish shoes, in my opinion. Yet Federer and On's The Roger sneakers are wildly popular, presumably down to a combo of no-frills design language and understated cushioning.

That same dual appeal fuels The Roger Pro, Federer and On's just-released tennis sneaker.

Also called the Clubhouse Pro, Federer and On's low-profile performance shoe is appreciably tasteful in the same way as the original Roger sneaker: simple, clean, wearable, comfortable and slick enough to be equally suited to the streets and the courts.

But On, which has recently benefitted from fashion-minded collaborations with tastemaking retailers and clothing labels, has wisely sought third-party help to boost the presence of its young tentpole shoe.

Specifically, Japanese sneaker giant atmos is giving On's Roger Pro sneaker a stylish upgrade.

Probably. We can't actually see what the collaborative atmos x On Roger Pro shoe looks like just yet.

atmos boss Hirofumi Kojima teased the forthcoming collaboration on May 14, showcasing solely (ha) a white sneaker with black sockliner and grass-patterned insole.

From the top-down angle, the sole appears to stylistically coincide.

Simple enough and sure to please most everyone who digs on any style of Federer's On sneaker, be it lifestyle or tennis-minded. Except, in line with most atmos sneaker drops, it's sure to be far more limited.

On has really hit on something with its top-grade running shoes, which range from from a new Cloudmonster (my pick for On's best-looking shoe) to a wild laceless sneaker that recently raced its way to the front of the Boston Marathon thanks to running legend Hellen Obiri.

Those sneakers are as out-there as On's Roger is in-there but that's part of what makes On such a compelling brand to watch as it grows in leaps and bounds.

Just as much as sportswear's big boys, On really can do it all.
