Double Tap to Zoom

One of the worst things about global warming — alongside the intense droughts, storms, rising sea levels, melting glaciers, and rapidly warming oceans — is that it’s rarely cold enough (in the UK, at least) to wear any well-made puffer jackets without working up a bit of a sweat.

In all honesty over the past few years, I’d say I could count on one hand the amount of times I’ve deployed by arctic parka (a Nigel Cabourn x Haglöfs IC3 Down Parka, for those wondering), and even then it felt a little overkill — not least thanks to its ridiculous £900-odd price tag.

So, this year it’s about finding a happy-medium: a coat equipped with the credentials to handle the unpredictable British weather, one that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, and one I won't be aggrieved about not wearing on the daily.

The answer? A Palace puffer, of course.

Dropping as a part of the London label’s Winter 2022 collection this coming Friday, Palace’s winter-ready puffer jackets not only arrive in five different colorways, but if past releases are anything to go by, they’ll be reasonably priced, too.

Warm, cozy, and giving its wearer the ability to channel their inner Michelin Man, Palace’s outerwear is on point yet again.

And, if you aren’t already sold, it comes equipped with a built-in balaclava too, which can finally put to bed that age old debate of: hood or balaclava? Because this season, it’s both.
