Yes, it’s that time of year once again, and Pitti Uomo is just around the corner. Pitti Uomo SS18 takes place between June 13 and 16, and while it’s already been announced that OFF-WHITE and J.W.Anderson will be showing, we’ve just received an additional scoop on what to expect.

“BOOM, PITTI BLOOMS” is its title and theme, referencing the energy and beauty of flowers. At this year's summer fair, the world’s most celebrated designers will let their ideas and creativity bloom like a wild bouquet.

Alongside being a metaphor for the fair as a fertile ground for new ideas and emerging designers, the theme is a vibrant aesthetic reference. “BOOM, PITTI BLOOMS presents the marvels of a fanciful world,” says Agostino Poletto, Pitti Immagine’s Deputy General Manager. “Where original patterns and contrasts cover facades, floors and spaces. Lively spirited textures will blossom on huge inflatable flowerbeds to invade the Fortezza and brighten new lounge areas and observation points.”

To bring the project to life, Pitti organizers enlisted Sergio Colantuoni to work on the concept, layout and art direction, and illustrator Alessandro Ripane to design the official pattern. They’ve also worked with La Rinascente Milan on a limited edition collection that will show at the Fortezza and celebrate BOOM, PITTI BLOOMS. The collection features this year’s graphics on an Invicta backpack, Superga sneakers, Virtus t-shirt and cap, White Sand pants, Franco Ferrari scarf, API S.p.A. and Fiscatech eco-leather bag, and Times Archive wristwatch.
