Florence’s bi-annual celebration of men’s fashion and lifestyle, Pitti Uomo, is gearing up for its return this January with visuals emerging and details gradually trickling in.

Pitti Immagine Uomo 93, as it’s more formally known, takes place between January 9 and 12 at the signature Fortezza da Basso location in Florence. This year’s theme is cinema and the entire fair will be transformed into a Film Festival that transports attendees beyond the silver screen. Venues will reflect different movie genres, pavilions will become movie theatres and the Fortezza da Basso’s main forecourt will resemble a movie theatre district with billboards announcing that day’s blockbuster events.

As the boundaries between high-fashion and streetwear continue to disintegrate, Pitti Uomo remains a forward-thinking fashion initiative by focusing on the most contemporary and experimental menswear styles this season. Pitti Uomo 93 will showcase a new generation of artisans, cutting-edge designs and niche luxury brands from across the globe.

UNDERCOVER by Jun Takahashi and TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist will be presenting their menswear collections as this year’s guest designers. Their back-to-back menswear shows will symbolize and celebrate their personal friendship and admiration for one another’s work. It will be the first time Miyashita shows TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist outside of Japan and only the second time Takahashi has shown his menswear on the runway.

032c is scheduled to present its first full apparel collection while Istanbul’s Les Benjamins will show its new FW18/19 collection. Fear of God and Buscemi will host an exclusive pop up shop.

There are also plans to shine the spotlight on some Eastern brands with two Concept Korea shows dedicated to emerging Korean designers and six Japanese brands selected by The Tokyo Fashion Award displaying collections. These brands are Beyond Closet, Bmuet(te), Body Song, Children of the Discordance, Digawel, F/CE, Kuon and Soe.

Over the four days, guest can expect exhibitions, pop up stores, presentations, interactive experiences, runway shows and much more. Visit pittimmagine.com for the full line up and check out the Pitti Live Movie video at the top of the page to get a feel for this year’s theme.
