For over 35 years, Stone Island has produced functional, weatherproof and uniquely “trend-proof” garments that have won favor among a variety of subcultures. The Italian sportswear company's SS19 video is further testament to its commitment to both evolution and timelessness, showcasing the innovative and experimental features of its colorful “Icon Imagery” collection. The capsule repeats and progresses the label's concept of “industrial strength.”

Much like the video’s soundtrack, the workwear-inspired capsule is structured by industrial tones, together with the usual technical flamboyance. Here we get a greater sense of the movement of the fabric which – thanks to consistent high temperature washing – exhibits an architectural stiffness. Similarly, the sturdy military-derived texture of the suit's cotton fabric is enhanced by a special recipe garment dye.

By contrast, the color palette is an idiosyncratic mix of sophisticated deep colors and bright, fluro accents. This combination of tones, together with the collection's technologically-advanced materials, including Dyneema bonded leather, GORE-TEX, Infinitum soft linen shells, and innovative color-changing fabrics, makes for yet another well-executed, weather and trend-resistant collection.
