These Thrashable Blazers Have Serious Skating Pedigree
Skating’s premier magazine is turning 45 years old this year. Thrasher, which first released in 1981, grew to become not only the subculture’s defining publication, but also expanded way beyond skateboarding and became a cultural phenomenon in its own right.
To celebrate the milestone, we’re being treated to the Thrasher x Nike SB Blazer which is available for pre-order and is scheduled to ship in June 2026.
It’s not the first time that Thrasher and Nike have collaborated, and it’s not even the first time that Thrasher and Nike have collaborated on the Blazer. To mark its 25th anniversary back in 2006, Thrasher dropped another Blazer that bears a striking resemblance to the 2026 edition.
In fact, you can think of them as siblings. For 2026, though, the Black and Pale Gold colorway has been flipped, making black the dominating hue while gold accents detail the Swoosh, lining, heel tab, and tongue label.
Once again, the shoe is delivered in soft suede which adds depth to the color palette, especially the jet-black uppers.
What’s perhaps most interesting about this partnership is the decision to use the Nike Blazer as the model, despite it originally being designed as a basketball shoe.
The fact that it is now the subject of multiple collaborations with the foremost skating magazine in the world shows how far this shoe has come, being adopted by the skating community wholeheartedly while being nowhere to be seen near a basketball court anymore.
