Timberland's Skeletal Boot Gears up for Spooky SZN
Spooky szn means one thing and one thing only: It's time for scary-good fits with the boots to match. And Timberland is going all in on Día de los Muertos with a skeleton-painted 6-inch boot. The Day of the Dead celebrates the continuity of life after death and Timberland has managed to channel this into one luxe boot.
Painted midfoot and toe bones layer over the dark orange nubuck upper that also supports intricate lattice and floral details along the spine of the heel.
Periwinkle-ish blues take over the boot's collar and laces.
The shoe's fun with color doesn't stop there, as the boot's skeleton upper features color-changing properties that reflect light, turning from white to purple depending on the lighting.
Marigold, a golden flower symbolizing grief and remembrance, hangs from the shoe in the form of an embroidered hang tag. The flower also has brief cameos at the eyelet and footbed.
Available on the Timberland website for $240, this boot is part of Timberland's larger Día de los Muertos. The lineup also includes a women's Stone Street Platform Día de Muertos 6-Inch Waterproof Boot that features pearl beading at the ankle and an embroidered collar that matches the embroidery on the boot's marigold hang tag.
The collection also includes a matching black hoodie, available on the Timberland website October 19.
