President Trump unveiled the logo for his proposed Space Force yesterday, a new branch of the United States military that was created when Trump signed a new defence spending bill last month. Trump had been pushing for a military presence — namely Space Force — since early 2018.

Announcing the logo on Twitter, Trump wrote: “After consultation with our Great Military Leaders, designers, and others, I am pleased to present the new logo for the United States Space Force, the Sixth Branch of our Magnificent Military!” See the logo below.

Observant Twitter users were quick to point out, however, that the new logo bears a striking resemblance to another space force, specifically the Star Fleet of fictional movie and TV franchise Star Trek.

Of course, it didn’t take long for the comparisons to catch on, with many users making fun of Trump’s seemingly unoriginal and hilariously familiar logo. Check out some of the best reactions below.
