After getting an initial glimpse late last year, HBO is back with the first teaser trailer for Damon Lindelof's Watchmen. The miniseries is based on Alan Moore's iconic 1986 novel of the same name.

In the roughly one-minute clip, we're teased with the masked vigilantes planning their revolt. Shots of the town's law enforcement are also interspersed within, as they eventually go on strike and propose an anti-vigilante bill with hopes of keeping the "superheroes" from taking their jobs.

Lindelof has already admitted that he isn't attempting to recreate Moore’s work, so it will be interesting to see just how much homage is given in the HBO series. Nonetheless, Watchmen — starring Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, and James Wolk — is scheduled to premiere on HBO this fall.
