Editor’s Notes: YMC looks back to the Chicano movement in 1940s California as inspiration for its SS19 collection. According to the brand, the drop is highlighted by handcrafted pieces, relaxed cuts and transfixing symbolism.

YMC SS19 largely features oversized and relaxed silhouettes, as lightweight styles are then offered in Italian double-faced linen and Japanese satin. For cooler days, you can take advantage of thick yet soft Italian fleece.

YMC draws on Latin American culture for this season’s prints and embroidery work, as the hand-woven Guatemalan rainbow tape is seen across jersey basics, and the wave ikat design is noted on a number of classic pieces. Stars, tigers and Bonita florals then account for the printed symbols utilized throughout the range.

YMC's personal favorites from its new seasonal assortment include an oversized linen patchwork jacket, the Bowie Zip shirt in chambray, the MK2 twill jacket and matching pant, a reversible waistcoat, and the Michael shoe in collaboration with Paraboot.
